Obstacles

This 5.5-miler may start and finish on a historic settlement and wind through a scenic conservation area, but it is definitely NOT a walk in the park!

Details

• To ensure a smooth start, you will be organized into groups (selected during registration):
  • Mud Racer – 8 min. miles or faster
  • Mud Runner – 9 min. miles
  • Mudder – 9:00 to 9:30 min. miles
  • Mud Jogger – 9:30 to 10:30 min. miles
  • Mud Wallower – 10:30 min. miles or slower*
• Each group will be subdivided into 15 waves to alleviate congestion on the trails.
• The 5.5-mile event is chip timed. Clocks are also located at the Start and Finish.
• The Henricus Dauber Dash is limited to 1,500 participants.
• Please arrive well in advance of the start, to allow time for picking up your race packet.

*Please note: This is NOT a race for walkers.

Mud Guppies

Why should mom and dad have all the fun? Let the little ones race the one-miler, complete with mini hay bales and the same messy mud pit at the finish! Ages 8-14 are welcome!

Packet Pick-up

T-shirt and packet pick up will be available at Henricus Historical Park, beginning at 7 a.m. on event day, Saturday, June 29. A photo ID is required to pick up your race packet.

Bag Check

Bag check is available near the Start/Finish. You may also “check” your ID if you’d like a beer at the finish.

Course

The 5.5-mile race starts and finishes at Henricus Historical Park after winding through Dutch Gap… but it’s not just your average walk in the park. This course is packed with plenty of mud, dirt and obstacles along the way to keep you challenged and having fun! Click here for a full description.

Tips & Safety

• Wear your grungy clothes and sneakers - they probably won't be going home with you!
• Bring a big trash bag, dry clothes and a towel for afterwards.
• Leave your jewelry and anything items of value at home.
• This is a TRAIL run – in addition to our man-made obstacles, be cautious of rocks, roots, etc.
• Do NOT dive head first into the mud pits.

Event Charity

Sports Backers, The Henricus Foundation and Greater Richmond Fit4Kids are proud to support the Kids Run & Play RVA program at Bellwood Elementary School by recognizing it as the official event charity for the Henricus Dauber Dash at Henricus Historical Park.  

In Chesterfield County Schools, more than 3 out of 10 children are either overweight or at risk of being overweight. Lack of physical activity is a key contributor to this epidemic, which is particularly acute in lower income communities. Therefore, it is critical that we help schools increase the amount of physical activity students engage in during the day. Through supervised running clubs and guided play at recess, the Kids Run & Play RVA program will provide students at Bellwood Elementary with the recommended level of activity in an appropriate and fun environment that will teach them skills and habits to last a lifetime.  

When registering, please consider making a donation to the Kids Run & Play RVA program at Bellwood Elementary so their students will not only be more physically active, but will also learn fair play, positive conflict resolution, and be better prepared to learn in the classroom.
